Kids (5 to 12 Years)
What can I do in the moment?
Bullying is NEVER okay. It can never be justified. If you are being bullied here is what to do.
1. The most important thing is to stay calm. Helpful ways to stay calm can be taking a few deep breaths, or count to 10 in your head, have a good song to think about in your head.
2. Then make your face to look like you really don’t care and you’re really not interested in their opinion. (This is very important).
3. Then walk away.
4. Now is the time to seek help from someone you trust!
5. Talk to a teacher, a parent, an older student, or school counsellor – they can remind you that you are not alone, and they can address the situation and help you figure out what to do.
Notes to self....
It’s important that you do not try to hurt this person back.
Also, don’t try to make friends with them. Do your best to stay with a close friend or group of friends if you have them.
