Not Feeling Looked After
As a growing young person, you need lots of love and care from adults to help keep you healthy. Sometimes, for lots of different reasons, adults might not be able to love and care for you, in the way you need.
This can cause you to be lonely often, be hungry because you’ve not received food, or you’ve not gotten help to feel better when you’re sick or hurt, or get help with your homework.
Experiencing this can feel very scary, sad, or lonely, and it is not your fault! You deserve to be taken care of and feel safe.
If you are experiencing any of this, or other ways of not being cared for, you should tell a trusted adult who does not live in the same house. This could be a teacher, a relative, or you can use Cayman’s Kids Helpline chat to seek help.
It’s important to always ask for help and find people in your life that you can trust.
In addition to asking for help, connect to people and spaces that make you feel safe. Try to find fun things to cope with, like spending time with friends, playing your favourite games, listening to music, or anything else that brings you joy.
